Northwest Sicily

  • Palermo
  • Cefalù
  • Trapani
  • Marsala
  • Egadi Islands

Some pictures of the Western side of Sicily characterized by a flourishing and verdant nature between Palermo and Cefalù, trekking routes and Adventure Parks on the Madonie Mountainswhere they still produce the “manna” (from the Ash Tree), natural parks and protected areas in the province of Trapani like the “Riserva dello Zingaro”, Erice, ancient town perched on a cliff between the clouds from which you can enjoy a breathtaking view over the salt flats of Nubia and the Egadi Islands.

In this corner of Sicily you can almost touch the Arabic influence in the kasbah of Mazara del Vallo, crucial European fishing harbor, in the kitchen with the cous-cous and the pesto, trapanese style, very reach in spices and flavors.

Twenty minutes ride from the airport we can find an archeological site where the Doric Temple of Segesta is flanked by agaves and aloe plants, perfectly preserved in a valley between the sea and the mountains, the ideal place to sip a glass of “bianco d’Alcamo” (the local white wine) before leaving at sunset when the stone of the temple becomes ambered-pink.
